Notary Seal Requirements: District of Columbia
The District of Columbia requires the use of an embossing seal to complete all official notarial acts. The notary seal must contain the name of the Notary Public as it appears on their commission, the words "Notary Public" and the commission expiration date in the center of the seal, and "District of Columbia" on the perimeter.
The notary seal may also contain a symbol or device chosen by the Notary Public, however the use of the Great Seal is prohibited.
