Notary Seal Requirements: New York
Although the use of a stamp/seal is not required by New York law, The ASN (American Society of Notaries) recommends that New York notaries use an ink stamp for all notarial acts.
According to New York law, notaries are require to print, typewrite or stamp the following information in black ink beneath their signature whether or not a seal is used: notary's name, the phrase "Notary Public State of New York", name of county where notary qualified for commission, commission expiration date, and their official character numbers (if required).
